This upcoming co-op cyber-terrorist RPG looks cool as hell

The Ascent is an action RPG set in a immense cyberpunk metropolis. I know, I know, it's a potent compounding of words. Ahead you lead, honourable watch the new trailer. I think this is one to safely keep tabs on.

You can play the whole thing solo or with three friends, for one, and the globe fair-and-square looks so dirty and alive. NPCs aren't ghostly automatons. They have collision and react to the action, cowering or running away whenever it breaks out, which can constitute anywhere apparently. I love the scene 48 seconds in: A untidy, grimy kitchen full of staff erupts into gunshot, the unarmed characters scurrying off in every commission. The action looks decent too, specially with co-op partners in nou.

(Pictur quotation: Neon Giant star)

Depending happening what kinda gear and augments you equip and what skills you spec towards, you can deploy stuff like force W. C. Fields or those wild mechanical octopus arms that fling around robots suchlike action figures cheeseparing the oddment of the trailer.

The Ascent likewise feels a bit more classically cyberpunk than recent games. Things are pass by megacorporations, there's dirt and Ne and synthesizers, but the tone hits a little looser and more tongue-in-cheek. At the start of the trailer, an Three-toed sloth announces to newcomers of Cluster 13 happening Planet Veles, "Behave, operating theatre I'll cause you fucking recycled." Looks like the 'tude will live strong in The Ascent. Let's hardly hope the stories within and RPG systems are as good as the rest of IT looks.

There's still no firm release date, but The Ascension is still coming out sometime in 2021, and information technology'll be on Unfit Pass at launch on Xbox and PC.

James Davenport

James is stuck in an endless loop, playing the Dark Souls games connected repeat until Elden Ring and Silksong set him free. He's a truffle cop for independent revulsion and weird FPS games excessively, seeking out games that actively injured to act. Other helium's wandering Austin, identifying mushrooms and doodling grackles.
